Manager II, Security Operations (AI)

Location: Hybrid from the Minneapolis, Minnesota headquarters or fully remote within the United States

What you will do

• Lead Security Operations, managing Cyber Defense engineers and analysts plus an 8-person L1/L2 SOC contractor pod.
• Own SOC performance metrics including alert triage, detection quality, ticket throughput, MTTD/MTTR, and time-to-containment.
• Serve as incident commander for Sev1 and escalated incidents, coordinating engineering, executive communications, and resolution.
• Manage AI agents used for triage, enrichment, response orchestration, escalation thresholds, human review, and output quality.
• Translate Cyber Defense strategy into a tactical SecOps roadmap and manage quarterly Jira sequencing.
• Oversee CrowdStrike, NG-SIEM, SIEM detection content, SOAR runbooks, MSP relationships, and a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in security operations, detection engineering, or incident response.
• Experience leading Sev1 incidents, cross-functional engineering work, executive communications, and multi-quarter security programs.
• Experience managing MSP/MSSP relationships and distributed or offshore SOC teams.
• Working knowledge of EDR, SIEM, SOAR, ticketing, CrowdStrike, Panther, Splunk, Sentinel, Tines, Torq, Phantom, and Jira.
• Experience coaching engineers and managing hiring, performance, and career development; 3+ years of direct people management preferred.
• Experience directing operational AI agents, designing escalation thresholds and human-in-the-loop controls, or using agentic frameworks such as LangGraph is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with CrowdStrike Falcon, Panther, Tines, AWS, EKS, and Atlassian.
• Familiarity with supply chain attack patterns and CI/CD security.
• GIAC GCIH, GCIA, GCDA, OSCP, or CISSP certification.
