Weekend Meteorologist/Content Creator

Compensation: $16.00–$17.00 per hour

What you will do

• Produce and present weather and news reports primarily for weekend newscasts, with weekday fill-in coverage as needed.
• Report, shoot, write, edit, and publish weather and news stories across broadcast, web, social media, and WETM+.
• Write and deliver clear, concise weather stories and daily local forecast web articles.
• Respond to breaking and severe weather events and coordinate comprehensive coverage with the weather team.
• Interact with viewers and users on social media and participate in promotional activities and public appearances.
• Report three days per week as part of the MMVJ responsibilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Entry-level to two years of weather presentation and reporting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of meteorology and a proven forecasting track record.
• Ability to shoot video, perform non-linear editing, and write stories from beginning to end.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and flexibility to work any shift.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of ENPS.
• Proficiency with Barron’s Radar.
