TL;DR
Senior Financial Analyst (Semiconductor): Supporting AOP, quarterly forecasting, spend tracking, closing, and long-term planning for engineering and R&D cost centers with an accent on Oracle EPM, investment modeling, and cross-functional financial analysis. Focus on translating technology roadmaps and headcount plans into multi-year models, evaluating NPV and ROI, and resolving complex accounting and budget questions with engineering and business leaders.

Location: Penang 15, Penang, Malaysia; office-based role

hirify.global operates a global Engineering Finance team supporting engineering, R&D, operations, product, accounting, and business leadership.

What you will do

  • Participate in annual operating plan development, quarterly forecasting, and five-year strategic reviews for assigned engineering, R&D, and operations cost centers.
  • Use Oracle EPM as the primary planning and reporting system while tracking in-quarter spend, budgets, and variances.
  • Contribute to quarterly closing by ensuring actuals are accurate and costs are classified appropriately.
  • Build financial models for investment analysis, including NPV, ROI, payback, and business-case evaluations.
  • Partner with engineering, product, FP&A, Accounting, and business leaders on investment decisions, contract review, and financial treatment.
  • Track program and IP milestones, including licensing payments, tapeout, and PRQ, and assess their financial implications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • At least five years of progressive FP&A experience, including AOP or budget cycles, quarterly forecasting, and month-end or quarter-end close.
  • Strong hands-on Oracle EPM experience is required.
  • Experience building complex financial models for investment decisions, business cases, ROI, or payback analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills, strong analytical ability, and clear communication with non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a US-based team across time zones.

Nice to have

  • Experience in the semiconductor or technology hardware industry.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Workday, or similar planning and tracking tools.
  • Exposure to IP licensing, royalty accounting, or R&D capitalization.
