Manager, Chassis Actuators - Brakes & Steering (Automotive)

Zoox is developing next-generation vehicles with integrated brake and steering systems.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of hardware and controls engineers.
• Deliver hydraulic brake and steer-by-wire systems against safety, timing, cost, and mass targets.
• Drive programs through milestones, phase-gate reviews, requirements, design reviews, validation, and issue resolution.
• Own headcount, supplier spend, prototype, testing, tooling budgets, and resource forecasts.
• Manage Tier 1 suppliers developing hardware and controls software.
• Partner with Vehicle Integration, Functional Safety, Firmware, Validation, and Manufacturing teams on system integration and bring-up.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in automotive chassis engineering at an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
• 2+ years of people management experience.
• Demonstrated experience delivering brake and/or steering systems, managing suppliers, and owning budgets and schedules.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and 3DX.

Nice to have

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Engineering.
• Experience with steer-by-wire or brake-by-wire systems and ISO 26262 functional safety.
• Experience with Polarion and automotive product development processes such as APQP.
