TL;DR
Innovation Development Engineer (Mineral Processing): Optimising a gold processing plant through process control reviews, live mass balances, digital information systems, and metallurgical investigations with an accent on plant data collection, PI System administration, and process performance. Focus on analysing plant parameters, automating monitoring workflows, integrating PI with MATLAB, and identifying operational risks and innovation opportunities.

Location: Residential role based at Macraes Mine, Otago, New Zealand. Full-time onsite position with a 5 days on / 2 days off / 4 days on / 3 days off roster, working 7:00am–4:30pm. Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand.

What you will do

  • Review process control configurations to improve circuit and equipment performance.
  • Develop and maintain live mass balances for plant circuits using Asset Intellect and PI Vision.
  • Support process troubleshooting and metallurgical investigations across the processing plant.
  • Monitor plant parameters to identify operational risks and opportunities for innovation.
  • Automate metallurgy, maintenance, and operations monitoring sheets and improve plant data collection.
  • Provide PI System and Asset Intellect administration and development support, including PI Analytics and MATLAB use.

Requirements

  • Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
  • Two to five years of experience in mineral processing or industrial processes is preferred.
  • Experience integrating PI with MATLAB is advantageous.
  • Experience in project development and production-focused work is advantageous.
  • Full and current driver licence; ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand is required.
