TL;DR
Senior Data Engineer (AI): Building and evolving CloudBlue’s high-volume data and analytics platform with an accent on real-time ingestion, scalable data infrastructure, APIs, and AI-driven capabilities. Focus on designing production data pipelines, embedding AI into backend services and workflows, and ensuring data quality, observability, and performance.
Location: Remote, global; the position is expected to be performed outside Ontario

What you will do
- Build and maintain a high-volume data fabric with real-time ingestion, pipelines, storage, and analytics.
- Design, implement, test, and operate features across CloudBlue’s cloud-native SaaS platform.
- Drive AI adoption by developing AI-powered workflows and embedding AI into backend services and business processes.
- Design and integrate APIs connecting data, services, and business workflows.
- Work with cross-functional engineering teams and Product Managers to deliver scalable technical solutions.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, observability, and performance across production pipelines.
Requirements
- Strong professional software engineering experience with data-intensive systems and production-scale workloads.
- Extensive experience building data pipelines and data models.
- Hands-on Python experience and strong expertise with event-streaming technologies such as Kafka, NATS, or Flink.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of data contracts, data quality, pipeline observability, production SLOs, APIs, PostgreSQL, relational databases, and automated testing.
- Professional working proficiency in English and the ability to collaborate in a distributed international environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with billing, finance, or usage-based monetization.
- Experience integrating LLMs or AI services, including RAG, MCP, agent runtimes, or Anthropic/OpenAI APIs.
- Exposure to lakehouse or data federation technologies such as Iceberg or Trino.
