What you will do

• Drive hardware and software design changes that improve tool serviceability, reliability, cost of service, and service revenue.
• Identify predictive design requirements and features using field data across multiple product divisions.
• Influence designers to incorporate AI, diagnostics, calibrations, predictability, design tolerance, and intellectual property protection features.
• Create prototype hardware and conduct on-system and off-system testing.
• Analyze large volumes of data, develop machine-learning models, and create software features using AI development tools and Python.
• Design tools that improve the efficiency of technical support, product engineering, and customer service engineers.

Requirements

• Doctorate in a relevant field with 0 years of related experience, or a master's degree with 3 years of related experience.
• Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience may also qualify.
• Knowledge of overall systems and technology-specific risks involving optics, electronics, high-precision motion stages, and servo systems.
• Experience with machine learning and Python development.
• Preferred academic backgrounds include physics, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering.
