AI Security Engineer (AI)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and implement security controls, guardrails, content filters, and policy enforcement layers for LLMs and AI-powered applications.
• Build threat models covering prompt injection, jailbreaks, data exfiltration, model abuse, and other AI-specific risks.
• Secure training and fine-tuning pipelines through data provenance, integrity, access controls, retention, and redaction mechanisms.
• Lead AI red-team exercises, evaluate third-party and open-source AI components, and drive remediation of identified weaknesses.
• Implement identity, authorization, tenant isolation, monitoring, logging, and detection strategies for multi-tenant AI services.
• Lead incident response for AI-specific security events and collaborate with privacy, legal, and compliance teams on regulatory obligations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of security engineering experience, including significant work with AI or ML systems.
• Strong understanding of LLM internals, modern AI architectures, adversarial ML, prompt injection, and model abuse research.
• Hands-on experience designing security controls for AI-powered applications, with strong application security, identity, and cryptography fundamentals.
• Experience with threat modeling and security architecture reviews, plus strong cloud security and infrastructure knowledge.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one systems programming language, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Publications, talks, CTF participation, or open-source contributions related to AI security.
• Experience red-teaming LLM-based products.
• Familiarity with privacy-preserving ML techniques such as differential privacy.
• Experience with regulated industries and strict data-handling requirements.
