AI/ML Software Engineer

Location: Remote in the United States or Canada; listed US locations include New York, Austin, Dallas, Detroit, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and San Francisco.

Salary: $150,000–$215,000 for US general locations; $170,000–$238,000 in premium locations. Equity is offered.

What you will do

• Design and implement AI-powered features across backend inference services and frontend interfaces in ClickHouse Cloud.
• Create scalable APIs connecting ClickHouse database capabilities with AI/ML inference systems and internal or external services.
• Build and maintain integrations with AI/ML frameworks, tools, and ecosystem standards.
• Deploy models into production with monitoring, versioning, observability, and evaluation.
• Own ML pipelines covering data, training, evaluation, and custom model fine-tuning or training.
• Participate in the daytime on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in production environments.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML technologies and deploying models in production.
• Experience with inference APIs and vector databases.
• Applied ML experience in Python, including Jupyter, PyTorch, and common ML libraries.
• Experience with compute clusters such as Ray or Slurm and designing reliable experiments for architectural decisions.
• Strong ownership, technical communication, and ability to drive features from concept to production.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP services for AI/ML deployment.
• Understanding of database systems and data processing pipelines; ClickHouse experience is a plus.
• Experience with embedding-based systems, retrieval, ranking, recommenders, and representation learning.
