Senior Kotlin Back-End Developer

Location: Fully remote for candidates living in Portugal or legally qualified to live and work there; listed locations are Coimbra and Lisbon.

Salary: €35,310–€54,400 gross per year.

What you will do

• Develop server-side applications using Kotlin.
• Design and implement distributed systems and microservices.
• Build and operate cloud-native solutions with AWS and Kubernetes.
• Work with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Write automated tests and improve application reliability with testing and observability tools.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on digital product development and problem-solving.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with a strong focus on Kotlin in server-side development.
• Experience designing distributed systems and microservices.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes in cloud-native environments.
• Proficiency with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit and Testcontainers, plus observability tools such as Grafana.
• Fluent spoken and written English; candidates must live in Portugal or be legally qualified to live and work there.
