Software Engineer II, Platform (Developer Platform)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; office attendance required three times a week

What you will do

• Build paved paths and self-serve tooling for hirify.global engineers.
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines, build tooling, and artifact repositories.
• Improve backend and frontend developer experience through scoped platform projects.
• Contribute to GraphQL and gRPC middleware, federation, schema sharing, CLIs, code generation, servers, and clients.
• Contribute to IAM solutions and help engineers use Kubernetes, ECS, OpenMetrics, and Datadog.
• Gather feedback from internal users, define problems, prioritize work, and own projects through production rollout.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of software engineering experience, ideally with developer platforms, internal tooling, or infrastructure.
• Comfort with backend services and growing familiarity with frontend build pipelines, Kubernetes manifests, and CI configuration.
• Hands-on experience with at least one CI/CD system, container orchestrator, build tool, backend-for-frontend technology, service communication system, metrics platform, or artifact storage solution.
• Ability to understand user needs, write clear design documents, communicate effectively, and gather feedback from internal users.
• Ownership mindset, including taking projects from idea to production, addressing technical debt, and supporting migrations.
• Availability to work from the Amsterdam office three days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with data-driven developer experience initiatives and DORA metrics.
• Experience with AWS or Terraform.
• Familiarity with IAM concepts including JWTs, OIDC, and fine-grained authorization.
