Patient Access Liaison - UPLIZNA (Rare Disease)

Location: US - California - Los Angeles; field-based role covering Los Angeles/San Diego with travel up to 50%, including occasional overnight and weekend commitments.

Annual base salary: $158,394–$185,578 for Level 5 or $164,276–$222,256 for Level 6.

What you will do

• Support patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and sites of care with insurance benefits, prior authorization, reimbursement, coding, and billing questions.
• Identify and resolve coverage barriers, denied claims, and reimbursement issues before and after infusion.
• Educate patients and providers about coverage requirements, co-pay assistance, national foundations, and free drug programs.
• Build relationships through phone, virtual, and in-person engagement and secure HIPAA authorizations within the assigned geography.
• Collaborate with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, Case Management, Marketing, and Site of Care teams.
• Document activities, report adverse events and product complaints, and follow compliance and pharmacovigilance processes.

Requirements

• Level 5: doctorate; or master’s degree plus 2 years of relevant experience; or bachelor’s degree plus 4 years; or associate’s degree plus 8 years; or high school diploma/GED plus 10 years.
• Level 6: doctorate plus 2 years of relevant experience; or master’s degree plus 4 years; or bachelor’s degree plus 6 years.
• Experience in patient services and/or access and reimbursement, including prior authorization, appeals, denied claims, and healthcare reimbursement systems.
• Ability to manage complex patient situations, resolve access barriers, communicate effectively, and work in matrix field environments.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, FDA, OIG, and internal compliance requirements, with awareness of coding and billing practices.
• Ability to travel up to 50% within the assigned geography.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting buy-and-bill or infused pharmaceutical therapies.
• Rare disease or orphan drug experience.
• Clinical background in nursing or allied health.
• Experience working with cross-functional field teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM, AI, and relevant systems.
