Senior/Principal Security Researcher - Cloud (Cortex)

Location: Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel; office-based work is expected for most teams

What you will do

• Conduct security research focused on protecting organizations moving from on-premises infrastructure to hybrid and cloud-native environments.
• Drive research initiatives to identify techniques for detecting and responding to sophisticated attacks.
• Define detection use cases, datasets, and analytic approaches combining runtime visibility with posture management.
• Track attacker methodologies, APT campaigns, and TTPs across legacy and cloud environments.
• Simulate real-world attacks and perform behavioral analysis to validate detection content.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, and go-to-market teams, and share findings through blogs, talks, and publications.

Requirements

• 5+ years of security research experience with a record of driving impactful projects.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native security across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Experience with detection and response products such as XDR, EDR, or cloud workload protection platforms.
• Hands-on coding and scripting experience, including Python.
• Direct experience conducting penetration testing and red team assessments against cloud infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills for explaining complex research findings and aligning diverse teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale data pipelines and analytics, including BigQuery or Dataflow.
• Familiarity with cloud threat modeling frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK for IaaS.
