Staff Engineer (Backend)

Location: Remote within the EU only

Salary: $190,000–$250,000 depending on experience

What you will do

• Own backend systems from design through production.
• Design and evolve APIs.
• Work hands-on with AWS.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and solve difficult technical problems.
• Mentor engineers while staying close to the code.

Requirements

• Experience building scalable backend systems.
• Strong backend engineering experience with Go, Java, Kotlin, Python, TypeScript, or another modern language.
• Ability to work hands-on while contributing at an architectural level.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving scale-up environment.
• Strong ownership, problem-solving skills, and willingness to be challenged by experienced peers.
• Must be able to work remotely from within the EU.

Nice to have

• Experience with B2B SaaS products or product-led environments.
• Experience in high-growth businesses.
• Exposure to Rust and AWS Serverless.
