Engineering Manager - Bank Accounts (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco, New York, Portland, or remote within the United States or Canada

Base salary: $200,700–$250,900 USD for US employees; $189,700–$237,100 CAD for Canadian employees. Total rewards also include equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead a team of 4–8 senior engineers delivering high-availability banking services.
• Translate company and product direction into measurable team objectives and predictable delivery plans.
• Balance customer-facing improvements with platform reliability, operational readiness, and long-term maintainability.
• Partner with Product, Design, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to improve banking products.
• Hire and onboard engineers, maintain a consistent interview process, and develop technical and leadership skills across the team.
• Ensure responsible use of AI-assisted development through testing, evaluation, review, and production safeguards.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience leading a technical engineering team.
• Experience building or operating reliable financial, banking, payments, or other high-integrity systems.
• Ability to work across product, policy, infrastructure, and operational boundaries.
• Strong technical judgment, system design skills, and ability to engage deeply with implementation.
• Experience developing senior engineers and creating opportunities for engineers to lead.
• Familiarity with Haskell and TypeScript, or interest in learning them.
