Senior Software Engineer (iOS/Android)

Location: US remote eligible; must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. Occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites may be required by agreement with the manager.

Base pay: $196,000–$227,000 USD per year, with potential bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

What you will do

• Design and ship features in native iOS and Android codebases, often delivering the same initiative in parallel.
• Translate product specifications into platform-idiomatic implementations in partnership with design and product.
• Maintain architecture, performance, and app-size standards across both platforms.
• Shape shared client contracts, including schemas, logging, and testing frameworks, while preventing platform drift.
• Support other engineers through pairing, code reviews, technical reviews, and architecture discussions.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Deep, current hands-on expertise in native iOS with Swift, UIKit, or SwiftUI.
• Deep, current hands-on expertise in native Android with Kotlin or Jetpack Compose.
• Experience independently shipping medium-to-large complexity mobile features and working across two native codebases.
• Strong mobile architecture experience, including maintaining coherence at scale.
• Ability to partner with design and product, resolve ambiguity, and make or escalate technical decisions appropriately.

Nice to have

• Experience with shared GraphQL client contracts and cross-platform logging or testing frameworks.
• Experience mentoring engineers in dual-platform mobile development.
