Director of Release Management (Automotive Software)

Location: Tel Aviv, Israel; hybrid workplace

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Release Managers.
• Own the team’s operating model, priorities, processes, and execution standards.
• Oversee complex software releases across multiple products, programs, and components.
• Drive release governance, readiness reviews, risk management, change control, escalation, and go/no-go decision support.
• Coordinate with Development, Integration, QA, Product, Program Management, DevOps, engineering teams, and senior leadership.
• Establish release-health KPIs and drive process, tooling, reporting, and pipeline automation improvements.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in Release Management, Program Management, DevOps, Software Engineering, or similar roles.
• At least 2–3 years of people-management or team-leadership experience.
• Experience managing complex, cross-functional software releases in a large-scale engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of software development lifecycles, release management, CI/CD, configuration management, quality processes, Agile, and Scrum.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Hebrew.

Nice to have

• Experience with Jira, GitLab, and Jenkins.
• Programming or scripting experience, preferably in Python.
• M.Sc., MBA, or experience with large-scale, complex software systems.
