What you will do
- Review and improve Chinese-to-English machine-translated patent content, including full text, trademarks, and related materials.
- Conduct translation quality checks and benchmark machine translation output against established standards.
- Analyze translation performance and benchmarking data, prepare reports, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Maintain translation memories, glossaries, terminology databases, master dictionaries, guidelines, and workflow documentation.
- Manage customer cases and operational requests related to translation quality and patent content review.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to improve translation quality, automation, and workflow efficiency.
Requirements
- Excellent Mandarin reading and writing skills and excellent English reading, speaking, and writing skills.
- Degree in biotechnology, chemistry, biomedical science, or a related scientific field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, data analysis, presentation, communication, time-management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint to analyze data and communicate findings.
- AI literacy, automation skills, collaborative working style, and the ability to work independently.
Nice to have
- Experience in patent translation, machine-translated content review, translation quality assurance, or Chinese-to-English post-editing.
- Experience with technical, scientific, or structured content requiring accuracy and consistency.
- Experience maintaining translation memories, glossaries, terminology databases, or master dictionaries.
- Experience with machine translation benchmarking, quality evaluation, data-driven reporting, process improvement, or translation workflow automation.
