General Ledger Accountant / Statutory & Tax Accounting & Reporting

Location: Bratislava, Slovakia

Salary: €24,500–€36,700 annualized base pay

What you will do

• Support month-end close and statutory accounting processes for company legal entities.
• Maintain complete and accurate accounting records and prepare financial reports for the US parent company.
• Prepare or review accruals, provisions, journal postings, account reconciliations, and close-related ledger activities.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and corporation tax reporting with support from outsourced providers.
• Perform and review SOX controls, investigate variances, and support independent audits.
• Support local projects, process improvements, and onboarding of additional countries into the Bratislava financial shared services center.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Background in general ledger accounting, preferably in a finance shared services and international environment.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills are required.
• Knowledge of US GAAP, technical accounting, financial reporting, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical, numeracy, prioritization, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, managers, business partners, and clients.
