Senior Database Administrator (Oracle/Exadata)

What you will do

• Administer, optimize, patch, and upgrade Oracle databases running on Exadata platforms.
• Monitor database health, diagnose performance bottlenecks, resolve incidents, and conduct root cause analyses.
• Implement logging, Oracle Enterprise Manager monitoring, and observability integrations.
• Automate database provisioning, patching, and daily operations while improving change consistency and traceability.
• Migrate and manage Oracle Exadata workloads on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Exadata Cloud Services using Terraform and infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Collaborate with application development, SRE, and infrastructure teams while providing technical direction on complex database challenges.

Requirements

• 10+ years of database administration experience in large-scale, business-critical environments.
• Strong expertise in Oracle databases and Oracle Exadata, including performance tuning, high availability, backup and recovery, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Exadata Cloud Services, and cloud migration initiatives.
• Understanding of database security and compliance, including PCI DSS requirements in regulated environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, ownership, and technical leadership skills.
• Fluent English communication required; the role is hybrid in Zurich, Switzerland.
