EPAM Systems is a global engineering and consulting company working with major enterprises and ambitious startups. The team is looking for a Senior UI Artist / Technical Artist to bridge visual design and technical implementation, transforming UX wireframes into high-quality interactive interfaces in Unreal Engine 5. You will own the process from concept and visual design through in-engine integration, animation and optimization.
🚀 Responsibilities
• Convert UX wireframes into polished UI designs, prototypes and design systems using Figma, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Implement and animate user interfaces in Unreal Engine 5 using UMG, Slate, Material Editor, Niagara, Sequencer and Blueprints
• Build and maintain menus, HUDs, UI shaders, VFX and transitions for PC, console and mobile platforms
• Create reusable frameworks, material functions, template libraries and animation systems
• Apply camera, lighting and post-processing techniques to spatial and diegetic UI
• Optimize UI assets through texture packing, shader cost management and runtime profiling
• Collaborate with UX designers, technical artists and engineers
• Maintain and evolve style guides and design standards aligned with the overall artistic direction
📚 Required Skills
• 5+ years of experience in UI Art, UI Technical Art or Game UI Development
• Strong hands-on experience with Unreal Engine 5
• Advanced knowledge of UMG, Slate, Niagara, Blueprints, Sequencer and Material Editor
• Strong understanding of UI animation, motion design, easing and micro-interactions
• Experience creating and optimizing shaders and textures across multiple platforms
• Knowledge of lighting, rendering, post-processing and spatial UI implementation
• Strong understanding of typography, composition, hierarchy and iconography
• Portfolio demonstrating UI and UX design, in-engine motion graphics and real-time FX
• Fluent English communication skills
👍 Nice to Have
• Experience with shader authoring tools, texture atlasing and UI VFX integration
• Familiarity with gameplay system integration using Blueprints or C++
• Understanding of scalable and accessible cross-platform design systems
• Interest in real-time UX and UI trends, 3D UI and cinematic interface design
