Game Designer (Contract)

Location: Montréal, Canada; hybrid

Salary: CAD 40–45 per hour for candidates located in Montréal

What you will do

• Design assigned game features, mechanics, systems, economies, and progression loops in alignment with the core vision.
• Pitch feature concepts and design rationale to internal leads for approval.
• Write game design documents, narrative scripts, dialogue, technical specifications, and implementation guidelines.
• Define rules, formulas, and balance parameters, then implement and tune assigned systems.
• Present design specifications and prototypes to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience designing systems, characters, and/or economies on at least one shipped title.
• Direct experience working within the Unity engine and building tools.
• Strong project management and mathematical skills.
• Advanced technical Excel expertise.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Montréal.
