LLE AME Application Engineer (Light Lifting Equipment)

Location: Remote or preferred locations in Springfield, Ohio; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Approximately 20% travel to customer sites, supplier locations, field installations, and internal facilities is required.

Salary: USD 70,000–85,000 yearly.

What you will do

• Lead application engineering for standard, configured, and custom light lifting equipment opportunities from concept through proposals, order clarification, and field support.
• Translate customer processes, specifications, duty requirements, and constraints into safe, practical, and commercially viable solutions.
• Develop equipment selections, layouts, preliminary calculations, technical descriptions, scope definitions, estimates, and proposal documentation.
• Integrate LLE products with below-the-hook devices, support structures, third-party equipment, and mechanical, electrical, controls, and operational interfaces.
• Coordinate with sales, manufacturing, suppliers, product-line engineering, project execution, and order-entry teams to support manufacturability and fulfilment.
• Provide second-level technical and field support, including site surveys, installation and commissioning guidance, troubleshooting, and technical training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Typically 3 or more years of application engineering, product engineering, mechanical design, or material-handling experience.
• Experience with technical sales support, offer drawings, estimates, manufacturing, suppliers, and order-execution teams.
• Proficiency in reading, creating, and reviewing technical drawings using CAD tools, along with engineering calculation and product-configuration tools.
• Knowledge of light lifting equipment, below-the-hook devices, structural load paths, applicable standards, OSHA, and relevant electrical and building requirements.
• Ability to travel approximately 20% and work safely in office, factory, and customer-site environments. Valid driving credentials and required site access eligibility are also required.

Nice to have

• Experience with cranes, hoists, automation, structural engineering, or below-the-hook applications.
• Experience with crane and hoist configuration or engineering calculation tools.
• Familiarity with MMA, MHI, and CMAA guidance.
