Security Specialist (SOC & IR)

What you will do

• Monitor endpoints, triage security alerts, support incidents through resolution, and contribute to root cause analysis.
• Investigate potential malware and suspicious activity using Microsoft security tools.
• Reduce alert fatigue through alert tuning, prioritisation, process improvements, and improved detection techniques.
• Act as a subject matter expert in a core security domain such as network monitoring, Microsoft security tooling, or bot protection.
• Perform proactive threat hunting across the technology estate and support major incident management.
• Maintain security documentation and procedures, participate in the on-call rota, and coach less-experienced colleagues.

Requirements

• Experience working in a Security Operations or Incident Response environment.
• Working knowledge of detection engineering, indicators of compromise, and alert tuning.
• Experience using Microsoft security tools to investigate potential threats and document findings.
• Ability to support and guide others in a security or technical setting.
• Interest in improving processes based on incidents and investigations.
• Willingness to participate in the Security Operations on-call rota, currently one week in every five.

• Experience or interest in building automation and playbooks to improve SOC efficiency.
