Security Analyst: 3rd Line (Microsoft Security)

What you will do

• Lead investigations and responses to complex cybersecurity incidents, breaches, and high-priority security events.
• Act as the senior escalation point for 1st and 2nd Line SOC analysts.
• Perform proactive threat hunting across customer environments using Microsoft security technologies.
• Improve detection capabilities through analytics, automation, threat intelligence, playbooks, and investigation processes.
• Assess security posture across cloud, identity, endpoint, and network environments and recommend risk-reduction measures.
• Mentor analysts and communicate security risks, remediation plans, and technical insights to customers.

Requirements

• Proven SOC experience leading complex investigations, escalations, and high-impact incident response.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, Entra, Azure, and Intune.
• Strong threat hunting, detection engineering, investigation, KQL, and security automation skills.
• Solid understanding of cloud, identity, endpoint, and network security architecture.
• Clear communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences, plus experience mentoring analysts.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role based in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom.
