Kotlin Developer (Fintech)

Location: Remote from Turkey; flexible working hours with no time trackers.

Nitka Technologies develops software for customers in the US and Europe and brings together around 300 professionals across Eastern Europe, North and South America, Armenia, Georgia, and Kazakhstan.

What you will do

• Design and evolve banking APIs for mobile applications and internal and external services.
• Build scalable backend solutions using Kotlin and modern JVM technologies.
• Contribute to the architecture, scalability, and reliability of core banking and partner platforms.
• Develop solutions for a fintech client offering credit products, plastic card issuance, and installment-based consumer finance.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in the JVM ecosystem with strong Kotlin or Java expertise.
• Deep understanding of concurrency and asynchronous programming.
• Experience with clean architecture, DDD, event-driven approaches, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes; AWS experience is preferred.
• Strong spoken English at Intermediate level or higher.

Nice to have

• Interest or experience in platform engineering.
• Experience optimizing database performance.
• Background in functional programming.
• Experience building internal libraries, SDKs, or developer tools.
