Mobile Technical Lead with Kotlin Multiplatform

What you will do

• Own architecture contracts across shared Kotlin Multiplatform logic, platform-specific code, and the VueJS/TypeScript UI layer.
• Design, implement, and maintain shared KMP modules for retail POS capabilities across JVM/Desktop and Android.
• Build offline-first flows with local persistence, caching, synchronization readiness, and explicit failure handling.
• Implement platform integrations using expect/actual patterns while keeping shared business logic platform-independent.
• Establish testing, code review, refactoring, and performance practices for critical retail operations.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, QA, product owners, and architects while mentoring Kotlin developers and communicating technical trade-offs.

Requirements

• 8+ years of Kotlin experience, including platform-scale architecture decisions with Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Strong system-level Android experience and hands-on KMP delivery for at least two targets, preferably Android and JVM/Desktop.
• Knowledge of KMP-Swift/iOS interoperability, XCFrameworks, expect/actual patterns, and Flow bridging.
• Experience with Java-to-Kotlin/KMP migration, modular or multi-tenant product architecture, and customer-specific extension points.
• Strong understanding of Clean Architecture, Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, dependency injection, REST/OpenAPI integration, Gradle Kotlin DSL, and automated testing.
• Effective communication, architectural leadership, stakeholder management, knowledge transfer, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Compose Multiplatform experience.
• POS, retail, payment, promotion, embedded systems, or hardware peripheral integration experience.
• Desktop JVM client experience, including Electron sidecar or local service integration.
• VueJS 3 and TypeScript knowledge for Kotlin-to-UI bridge design.
• Plugin architecture or performance engineering experience for latency-sensitive client operations.
