Senior Layout Artist (3D Animation)

What you will do

• Generate film previs and rough scene layouts based on established storytelling guidelines and storyboards.
• Construct shots and sets in 3D space, staging cameras, characters, and environments for clear visual storytelling.
• Use storyboard animatics, character blocking, and acting to create 3D scenes.
• Apply character design and modeling references to develop scene layouts for camera.
• Break down scenes, manage assigned work, and follow Supervisor and Lead guidance.
• Support colleagues through artistic and professional guidance while contributing to the creative and technical environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in the VFX or animation industries, including 3+ years in animation.
• Strong artistic and/or technical aptitude related to 3D animation.
• Knowledge of camera blocking, photography, and storytelling.
• Experience with Maya and non-linear editing tools such as Premiere, Hiero, or DaVinci Resolve.
• Ability to stage scenes and communicate story through camera composition and character movement.

Nice to have

• Experience with Unreal Engine.
• Experience with Linux.
• High English proficiency.
• Spanish proficiency.
