Cyber Security Professional (Fortinet/Palo Alto): Operating a 24/7 MSSP security operations centre by monitoring alerts, investigating incidents, and implementing standard changes to customer firewall environments with an accent on incident triage, firewall operations, and operational security controls. Focus on analysing security telemetry, supporting root cause analysis and service restoration, escalating complex incidents, and maintaining ISO/IEC 27001 compliance.
Location: Budapest, Hungary. Hybrid working model with three days together and two days wherever; 24/7 shift coverage is required.

What you will do
- Monitor, analyse, and respond to security and network events across BT and customer environments.
- Perform initial alert triage, investigate incidents using logs and telemetry, and support root cause analysis and service restoration.
- Manage and deploy simple, standard changes to customer next-generation firewall environments through approved change controls.
- Collaborate with incident response teams, customers, suppliers, third parties, and internal stakeholders.
- Escalate incidents to third-line teams when technical boundaries are reached.
- Maintain investigation records, operational reporting, service quality, continuous improvement, and ISO/IEC 27001 evidence and process controls.
Requirements
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, emerging threats, security operations, and network security.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN/WAN, operating systems, the OSI model, and associated security controls.
- Practical knowledge of next-generation firewalls, preferably Fortinet FortiGate and Palo Alto Networks, including policies, security profiles, NAT, VPNs, routing, and centralised management.
- Experience in security operations, ideally in a SOC or NOC, including firewall, connectivity, and security incident investigation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, stakeholder management, and operational documentation skills.
- Willingness to work 24/7 shift coverage and follow defined procedures, change controls, handovers, and escalation boundaries.
