Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Speech AI)

Location: London, England, United Kingdom; hybrid arrangement with 2–3 designated office days each week

What you will do

• Contribute to complex research and development projects with a diverse group of engineers.
• Train diverse speech and self-supervised models to improve speech recognition accuracy.
• Support the deployment of machine learning models into production using strong software engineering and model-serving practices.
• Stay current with developments in machine learning and deliver high-impact projects.
• Collaborate across departments and mentor team members where appropriate.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience pursuing ambitious research and development agendas collaboratively.
• Strong understanding of the modern machine learning stack and its direction.
• Knowledge of contemporary transformer architectures, including GQA and KV-caching, and their best practices.
• Experience with distributed training techniques.
• Familiarity with inference optimization strategies such as dynamic batching, flash attention, and speculative decoding.
• Careful attention to detail combined with an understanding of broader company goals.

• Technical writing demonstrated through relevant publications or blogs.
