Senior Technical Operations Engineer - Email, Mautic & Data (Remote, Spain)

Location: Fully remote, but the candidate must be located in Spain. Listed locations include Madrid, Galicia, Valencia, and Barcelona.

Salary: €40,000–€47,000 annually.

What you will do

• Own and scale the Mautic infrastructure hosted on AWS and sending through Amazon SES.
• Optimize Linux servers, heavy-load MySQL databases, RabbitMQ queues, and Mautic processes.
• Monitor email sends, queues, and servers, resolving issues before campaigns are affected and scaling delivery to approximately 3 million emails per day.
• Maintain email deliverability, including SPF, DKIM, DMARC, bounces, and complaints.
• Handle Marketing and Product requests, reproduce issues, respond to incidents, and document architecture, runbooks, and fixes.
• Maintain PHP/Symfony custom code and contribute over time to ClickHouse, Python export pipelines, Go services, Aerospike, and attribution work.

Requirements

• Must be located in Spain.
• At least five years of experience in systems, infrastructure, or technical operations.
• Senior-level experience with servers, Linux, DNS, infrastructure, networking, traffic, email sending, domain reputation, and security.
• Proven experience administering and optimizing MySQL databases under heavy load.
• English at B2 level or higher is mandatory. Spanish is highly preferred.
• Experience with PHP; Symfony, AWS EC2, Amazon SES, and email-sending infrastructure are valuable.

Nice to have

• Experience with Mautic, RabbitMQ, Aerospike, ClickHouse, data pipelines, Go, and AI-assisted development tools.
