Junior Node.js Engineer (IoT)

Location: Hybrid work model with office options in Kraków, Poland or Lisburn, UK

What you will do

• Implement well-defined features for embedded Linux applications using Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, and React.
• Contribute to microservices and web applications communicating with backend services through REST APIs.
• Fix defects and troubleshoot Linux-based embedded systems and IoT devices.
• Write unit tests and contribute to integration and system testing.
• Learn and support CI/CD workflows, participate in code reviews, and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate with software engineers, QA, DevOps, and other engineering disciplines.

Requirements

• Foundational knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript and an understanding of Node.js.
• Understanding of web fundamentals and REST APIs.
• Basic Linux knowledge and confidence using the command line.
• Understanding of software development fundamentals, source control, testing, and debugging.
• Fluent English, written and verbal.
• Problem-solving ability and willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies.

Nice to have

• Projects or internship experience with Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, or React.
• Exposure to Docker, CI/CD, or GitLab.
• Basic knowledge of Ethernet, serial communication, or TLS/SSL.
• Interest in IoT, embedded Linux, or hardware-software integration.
• Familiarity with Agile teamwork, Jira, and Confluence.
