Statistician (Statistics) (Agricultural Censuses): Developing methodologies, tools, and statistical systems for agricultural censuses and surveys with an accent on survey design, sampling, data validation, and dissemination. Location: Rome, Italy; fixed-term staff position for two years with a possibility of extension.

What you will do
- Develop and update conceptual, methodological, and operational guidelines for agricultural censuses and surveys.
- Support the World Programme for the Census of Agriculture and 's agricultural survey programme.
- Coordinate technical assistance for census and survey design, including questionnaires, manuals, sampling, pilot testing, field training, and advanced data collection technologies.
- Process, validate, analyze, and disseminate large-scale agricultural survey microdata and census data through STAT.
- Prepare technical reports, publications, metadata reviews, training materials, and documentation of census results and best practices.
- Coordinate capacity development, country support, meetings, and technical collaboration with offices and member countries.
Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent in statistics, mathematics, economics, or a related field.
- At least seven years of relevant experience compiling and analyzing food and agricultural statistics and coordinating statistical publications and dissemination platforms.
- Working knowledge of English and intermediate knowledge of another official language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish.
- Strong knowledge of statistical methods, probability distributions, sampling, inference, regression, ANOVA, hypothesis testing, and survey design.
- Experience with agricultural census and survey methodology, data collection, validation, dissemination, and technical assistance projects.
- Experience with CAPI tools, large-scale microdata processing, microdata dissemination, and statistical disclosure control.
