Team Lead Anti-Financial Crime Operations (Fintech)

Location: Office-based in Berlin or Munich, Germany. International relocation support is available, and an opportunity to work from abroad is mentioned.

What you will do

• Mentor and empower AFC experts, supporting professional growth and knowledge transfer.
• Review and triage complex, high-risk transaction alerts and investigations before escalation to the 2nd Line.
• Own the QA framework and ensure adherence to investigation standards and SLAs in a high-volume environment.
• Coordinate with 1st Line, 2nd Line, Product, Data, and Engineering to improve compliance workflows, tooling, and automation.
• Monitor emerging money laundering, terrorist financing, and financial crime trends to refine controls and investigation procedures.

Requirements

• Several years of operational experience in Anti-Money Laundering or Anti-Financial Crime within fintech, payments, banking, or a comparable environment.
• Deep knowledge of money laundering and terrorist financing typologies, suspicious activities, and operational risk controls.
• Experience leading people and managing AFC Operations specialists in a high-volume environment.
• Experience managing teams against SLAs, quality standards, and client outcome metrics.
• Experience improving processes, documentation, QA frameworks, tooling, and automation with Product, Data, and Engineering.
• Excellent communication skills in English and German are required.
