Machine Learning Engineer (AI)

Location: Helsinki, Finland; hybrid work with an expected weekly visit to the Helsinki office

Salary: €5,000–€6,500 per month, depending on experience

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain AI features and machine learning models serving millions of end users.
• Build and maintain scalable APIs that integrate models directly into products.
• Develop multimodal pipelines, multi-step agentic systems, specialist ML models, and shared LLM infrastructure.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and observability of AI systems.
• Collaborate with product teams and product managers to scope and execute complex projects.
• Own initiatives end to end, from initial concept through execution.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of software engineering experience in production environments.
• Strong Python skills and solid software engineering fundamentals, including production-grade coding.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, generative AI systems, and ML feature development in production.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform, such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Ability to work in a fast-moving environment, ship quickly, iterate, and take ownership of loosely defined problems.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setting and visit the Helsinki office weekly.

Nice to have

• Experience building and deploying ML models at scale or working with agentic AI workflows.
• Background in a SaaS product company.
• Knowledge of GCP, API design, observability, or scalability patterns.
• Experience with TypeScript.
