Laboratory Cleaning Mechanic (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Perform precision chemical cleaning, refurbishment, functional testing, decontamination, and passivation of aerospace fluid systems and functional components.
• Assemble and disassemble mechanical and electromechanical fluid components.
• Conduct pneumatic, hydrostatic, hydraulic, cryogenic, and electrical testing.
• Work from technical drawings, written procedures, and laboratory instructions.
• Perform all work safely in accordance with laboratory best practices and local policies.

Requirements

• US citizenship required.
• High school diploma.
• At least one year of experience in precision cleaning of fluid systems or components.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical and electromechanical fluid component assembly and disassembly.
• Experience using cleanroom tools, equipment, measuring instruments, and testing instruments.
• Full-time onsite work at Kennedy Space Center is required.

Nice to have

• Ability to pass KSC-provided Fuel Handlers, Visual Micro-particle Counter, Confined Space, Respirator, Crane Operator, and Heavy Equipment Operator physicals.
• Experience working in cleanrooms, enclosed areas, and at heights up to 500 feet.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Computer literacy and the ability to manage repetitive tasks and critical deadlines.
