Legal Intern (Fintech)

Location: Peru; fully remote

What you will do

• Support the US Legal Team with day-to-day legal operations and document requests.
• Review liens, notices, agreements, and other documents for accuracy, validity, and compliance, escalating unusual issues.
• Draft and file lien documents, templates, and standard forms under legal supervision.
• Maintain electronic records, legal databases, trackers, filings, and status reports.
• Track deadlines and follow up with counsel, operations teams, vendors, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare playbooks, checklists, templates, audit materials, and workflow improvements while supporting legal tooling.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Law, Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
• Advanced written and spoken English required for daily collaboration with the US Legal Team and US-based external stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to review legal documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Ability to manage multiple requests, prioritize work, and keep trackers and deadlines current independently.
• Professional communication, collaboration, problem-solving, adaptability, and confidentiality skills.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Claude or an equivalent large language model tool.

Nice to have

• Exposure to US legal concepts and procedures, including Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code or secured transactions.
• Experience with legal databases, Jira, Asana, Notion, or similar project management tools.
• Experience building trackers, dashboards, or project plans.
• Interest in fintech, payments, or consumer lending.
