What you will do

• Conceptualize and execute visual solutions for digital and other publishing platforms.
• Create original illustrations and edit photography for daily coverage and digital features.
• Research, curate, license, and manage photography across publishing platforms.
• Commission and art direct photographers and illustrators for story assignments.
• Manage image deliverables, assets, workflows, captions, credit lines, archiving, and image transmission.
• Work with pre-press on color correction and verify image accuracy.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as an illustrator, art director, and/or photo editor.
• Proven art direction and visual editing skills, with a portfolio demonstrating expertise in illustration and photography.
• Strong visual judgment, editorial judgment, conceptual thinking, and attention to detail.
• Mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma.
• Clear communication, independent thinking, and the ability to multitask and collaborate.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Nice to have

• Experience in editorial or journalism.
• Deep understanding of digital and social platforms.
• Experience with moving images and motion graphics.
• Journalism or art degree.
• A network of editorial contributors.
