SOC Engineer I (Mexico)

Location: Remote from Mexico only. Schedule: 1st shift, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Saturday through Wednesday; participation in 24/7 operational coverage may be required.

Pay rate: 25,000 MXN per month.

What you will do

• Monitor and respond to security, network, systems, and cloud alerts.
• Perform initial threat triage, event correlation, alert validation, and incident escalation using SOPs and runbooks.
• Monitor SIEM, EDR, Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, Azure Monitor, and AWS CloudWatch environments.
• Support vulnerability remediation, backup validation, replication checks, cloud governance, and compliance activities.
• Perform basic systems operations involving Windows, Linux, Active Directory, services, logs, storage, and patch validation.
• Document investigations, incidents, resolutions, and daily operational activities while identifying process improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–1 year of experience in help desk, technical support, SOC, or IT operations.
• Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, networking, IP addressing, DNS, firewalls, Windows, and Linux.
• Ability to manage multiple alerts, follow structured procedures, document work accurately, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Ability to support a 24/7/365 operational environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays when needed.
• CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, and Cisco Certified Support Technician certifications are preferred or may be obtained.

Nice to have

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Internship experience or coursework in networking, cybersecurity, or systems administration.
• Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, ticketing systems, or security tools through coursework, labs, internships, or self-study.
