Senior Frontend Engineer (Java)

Location: Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands; mostly remote with one fixed office day per week on Thursday.

What you will do

• Build and migrate services using Java 21 and Spring Boot.
• Develop Kafka-based services in an asynchronous, distributed environment.
• Build and operate the platform behind web components used across the organization.
• Monitor performance, capacity, and availability with Elasticsearch and Kibana.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation approximately once every 4–8 weeks.
• Act as Security Champion and maintain product risk documentation.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Java 21, including Stream API and functional programming concepts.
• Experience with Kafka, Spring Boot microservices, Azure, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including Cassandra.
• Knowledge of networking concepts such as DNS and HTTP, plus TLS and PKI security.
• Fluent English required; Dutch is not required.
• Solid hands-on knowledge of modern Java; no fixed minimum number of years is required.
