Senior Technical Material/Shader Artist (Unreal Engine)

What you will do

• Create high-quality materials and shaders for 3D artwork that meet artistic and technical standards.
• Design, develop, and maintain Unreal Engine Master Materials, shader systems, and reusable material functions.
• Collaborate with Art Leadership, Artists, Technical Artists, and Render Engineers to balance visual quality, flexibility, and performance.
• Contribute to scalable material pipelines, profile and optimize shader content, and support artists with guidance and best practices.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience developing, implementing, and optimizing real-time materials and shaders in Unreal Engine.
• Advanced knowledge of Unreal Engine Material Editor, including Master Materials, material functions, parameterization, layered materials, and scalable shader architecture.
• Strong understanding of real-time rendering, PBR workflows, lighting, texture authoring, and shader performance.
• Proficiency with Substance Designer and Substance Painter.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating both artistic and technical ability.

Nice to have

• Experience with HLSL, custom shader code, procedural material techniques, scripting, or automation.
• Knowledge of photogrammetry, photography, scanning, or physically accurate material capture.
