Test Engineer, System-Level Test (SLT) (AI Hardware)

Location: Hybrid, based in Austin, Texas; Santa Clara, California; or Fort Collins, Colorado, United States

Compensation: $100,000–$500,000, including base and variable compensation targets.

What you will do

• Develop the test execution framework hosting validation tests in System-Level Test environments deployed to OSAT production.
• Build wrappers, harnesses, and abstraction layers with deterministic execution, dependency management, configuration control, and structured error handling.
• Integrate functional, stress, and diagnostic tests into SLT platforms for stable high-volume manufacturing execution.
• Create logging, telemetry, failure-signature, and automated-triage capabilities.
• Collaborate with validation, firmware, silicon debug, product engineering, manufacturing, and OSAT/fab teams to resolve cross-domain issues.
• Define data standards supporting yield analysis and RMA investigations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in system-level testing, embedded systems, software architecture, or hardware/software integration.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, Python, or similar languages.
• Experience applying object-oriented design to modular, maintainable, and extensible test frameworks.
• Ability to control test equipment and automate handlers or external instruments through standard communication protocols.
• Experience debugging across test hardware, Linux hosts, firmware, drivers, and operating systems.
• Employment is contingent upon eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled technology and compliance with applicable U.S. export laws.

Nice to have

• Experience with JTAG, boundary scan, DFT, high-volume manufacturing, NPI, Git, or CI/CD.
