What you will do
- Design and implement a TypeScript and Rust-based CLI tool for automating Sphinx and Sphinx-Needs workflows, including builds, linting, consistency checks, and versioning.
- Develop and maintain a VS Code extension for managing, searching, and generating Sphinx documentation.
- Build a responsive UI with React, Tauri, or similar frameworks for developers and technical writers.
- Write unit and integration tests and maintain technical documentation for the tooling.
- Optimize performance, cross-platform packaging, and distribution for Linux, Windows, and macOS.
- Collaborate with developers, technical writers, and product stakeholders to refine and deliver features.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of software development experience with Python and TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience developing VS Code extensions and integrating editor APIs.
- Experience with UI development using React, Tauri, or similar technologies.
- Experience with cross-platform packaging for Linux, Windows, and macOS and a focus on performance optimization.
- Good English communication skills and availability to start as soon as possible.
Nice to have
- Experience with Rust or Rust-based UI frameworks.
- Familiarity with the Sphinx ecosystem.
- Contributions to open-source tooling.
