TL;DR
UX/UI Designer - Remote (Data Analytics) (Figma/Analytics): Designing data-intensive NASA aeronautics applications, including dashboards, data tables, visualizations, reporting interfaces, and complex data-exploration workflows, with an accent on user research, design systems, and translating technical information into clear experiences. Focus on establishing a design practice from the ground up, defining personas, creating reusable UI standards, and improving usability across analytics platforms.
Location: Remote; US citizenship required

What you will do
- Establish and maintain a design system with reusable components, interaction patterns, standards, and documentation.
- Define user personas, plan and conduct user research, and translate findings into product improvements.
- Design high-fidelity interfaces, prototypes, and workflows for dashboards, data tables, visualizations, reporting systems, and analytics platforms.
- Transform complex scientific and operational data into clear, accessible, and actionable visual experiences.
- Create user flows, journey maps, wireframes, and interaction models while iterating based on feedback.
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, analysts, researchers, and program leadership to translate technical requirements into user-centered solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, UX design, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Eight years of related experience designing analytics-focused, data-intensive applications.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating dashboards, data visualization, reporting systems, analytics platforms, or data-exploration workflows.
- Advanced proficiency with Figma and experience creating a design system from the ground up.
- Experience with user personas, user research, visual design, interaction design, and information architecture.
- US citizenship required.

- Strong data literacy and understanding of data structures, relationships, and sources.
- Experience with scientific, engineering, technical, or government software.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and enterprise applications.
- Experience working in Agile software development teams.
