Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance Tableau reports, interactive dashboards, and self-service BI solutions.
• Translate complex datasets into clear visualisations and explain reporting outcomes to non-technical stakeholders.
• Develop scalable data models and transformations in the Redshift warehouse using dbt, collaborating with Data Engineering.
• Maintain data quality, reporting reliability, metric definitions, testing, version control, and technical documentation.
• Administer Tableau permissions, project structures, user licences, extract refresh schedules, alerting, and incident processes.
• Identify opportunities to automate and optimise reporting, rationalise obsolete reports, and responsibly use AI tools.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a data role focused on data manipulation, business intelligence, and reporting.
• Advanced SQL skills, including writing, troubleshooting, and optimising complex queries.
• Strong experience building dashboards and reports with a modern BI tool; Tableau is preferred.
• Ability to partner with stakeholders, define reporting requirements, communicate technical concepts clearly, and improve data literacy.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical curiosity, organisation, adaptability, and collaborative working skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role based in London, United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• Experience with dbt for data modelling, transformation, and managing the BI or analytics layer.
• Python experience for data manipulation or automation.
• Experience using AI assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Claude in development workflows.
• Git or GitHub experience with version control, collaboration, and code review.
• Financial services experience, particularly in the pensions industry.
