What you will do

  • Lead enterprise-wide cybersecurity risk and vulnerability management efforts for Department of Energy systems and subsystems.
  • Perform NIST and FISMA risk, vulnerability, and security control assessments.
  • Evaluate threat likelihood, operational and data impact, and the enterprise security posture against established benchmarks.
  • Advise IT and engineering teams on secure solutions, remediation priorities, and compliance with legal, governmental, and industry requirements.
  • Communicate complex technical risks, assessment findings, and remediation plans to management, federal leadership, and government officials.
  • Coordinate operational security teams, ISSOs, system owners, technical contacts, contractors, government stakeholders, and federal executives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an information technology-related field and eight years of information technology experience.
  • At least four years of experience conducting risk and vulnerability assessments on progressively complex systems and projects.
  • Experience in cybersecurity operations, security control assessments, or related technical security functions.
  • Experience developing security solutions, validating cybersecurity tools and processes, and providing senior-level consulting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting and defending security strategies and remediation outcomes.
  • Ability to complete a Department of Energy background investigation and obtain DOE L clearance for access to federal systems.
