Senior Engineer II, Product Security

Location: On-site in Irvine, California, United States

Annual salary: $140,000–$170,000, plus eligibility for up to a 10% annual bonus.

What you will do

• Implement secure-by-design principles across software platforms for medical devices.
• Participate in threat modeling, architecture reviews, and product risk assessments.
• Drive security patch release processes and address product vulnerabilities.
• Perform impact assessments and security testing for products and software updates.
• Integrate cybersecurity practices into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflows.
• Collaborate with Software Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, and Risk Management teams on cybersecurity compliance and product lifecycle security.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, software engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years focused on cybersecurity or product security.
• Working knowledge of secure software design, application security, and cryptography.
• Experience with threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, and risk-based security decisions.
• Experience integrating cybersecurity into the software development lifecycle.
• Experience working in agile development environments.

Nice to have

• Cybersecurity experience in medical devices, healthcare technology, or other safety-critical industries.
• Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001, OWASP, or similar cybersecurity frameworks.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures, embedded systems, or hybrid software ecosystems.
• CISSP, CSSLP, or equivalent certification.
• Information security experience in medical device manufacturing.
