VP, Engineering, Network Observability

Location: Remote in Ontario, Canada or the USA

hirify.global develops LiveAction, a network observability product line that provides predictive visibility into network health, performance, and behavior for enterprises, telecommunications providers, and government agencies.

What you will do

• Lead the engineering organization responsible for the LiveAction network observability platform.
• Set technical direction, architecture, and the multi-year engineering roadmap for network observability and infrastructure monitoring products.
• Architect and scale platforms that ingest, process, and analyze network telemetry, including flow data, SNMP, packet captures, synthetic tests, and streaming telemetry.
• Deliver AI capabilities for anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, and predictive insights that reduce mean time to resolution.
• Establish engineering standards, development processes, and operational excellence across the organization.
• Partner with Product Management, executives, customer-facing teams, enterprise accounts, and government customers on technical requirements and escalations.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering and 10+ years managing senior individual contributors, leads, and managers of managers.
• Direct experience building network observability, network performance monitoring, or network and infrastructure management products.
• Strong knowledge of networking and telemetry, including TCP/IP, routing and switching, NetFlow/IPFIX, SNMP, packet analysis, WAN/SD-WAN, and related open-source technologies.
• Experience delivering high-performance hardware or appliance systems for network telemetry and packet processing.
• Strong experience with SaaS or PaaS engineering and on-premise enterprise software delivery.
• Development experience in Java, C++, or similar object-oriented languages, plus a BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience developing services on AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle Cloud.
• Experience with high-throughput data pipelines, streaming, time-series analytics, and large-scale storage technologies.
• Background in AIOps, machine learning for anomaly detection, or predictive analytics for network or IT operations.
• Experience with cloud-portable open-source architectures, government requirements such as FedRAMP or StateRAMP, post-acquisition integration, or customer-facing technical roles.
