Senior Data Engineer (Teradata)

Location: Liverpool, England, United Kingdom; flexible hybrid working model.

What you will do

• Design and build scalable, reliable data pipelines for business decision-making.
• Shape and improve the cloud-based data platform, including performance, cost, and usability.
• Own data solutions from design through production, support, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot complex data issues and improve the stability and observability of data products.
• Raise engineering standards through code reviews, reusable patterns, and best practices.
• Collaborate with product, platform, and engineering teams while coaching and mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• Strong experience designing and delivering production-grade data solutions.
• Experience developing and maintaining Teradata-based data solutions for enterprise-scale data warehousing and analytics.
• Proficiency with Teradata utilities including BTEQ, Fast Load, Multi Load, and TPT, plus experience with Viewpoint, TD Stats, and TDWM.
• Strong knowledge of data warehousing, ETL, large-scale data platforms, data lakes, and Lakehouse concepts.
• Experience with cloud technologies; AWS experience is preferred.
• Solid coding skills in Python, SQL, Java, or Scala, with experience across the full delivery lifecycle.

Hiring process

• Initial 30-minute Teams call, likely with the Data Engineering Manager.
• Take-home task followed by a one-hour technical interview discussing the task.
