TL;DR
Senior Platform Engineer (Defence & Security): Designing, building, and operating large-scale on-premise and private cloud platforms for security-critical products with an accent on infrastructure automation, isolation, compliance, and GPU-enabled AI workloads. Focus on building resilient platforms on physical and virtualized infrastructure, securing air-gapped environments, and solving complex infrastructure challenges with product teams and clients.
Location: Helsinki, Finland; 100% onsite. Finnish citizenship is required, and the selected candidate must successfully complete a security clearance process.

What you will do
- Design, implement, and maintain on-premise and private cloud environments, including GPU-enabled infrastructure for AI workloads.
- Build secure, isolated, compliant, scalable, and resilient platforms across physical hardware and virtualization layers.
- Automate infrastructure operations and standardize tools, configurations, and processes to improve maintainability and delivery speed.
- Work closely with product teams, clients, and stakeholders to provide infrastructure guidance and support.
- Contribute infrastructure expertise to sales and proposal work for the Defence & Security Business Unit.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience in platform infrastructure, infrastructure engineering, or DevOps; the listed competencies commonly require 8+ years to develop.
- Deep production experience with on-premise infrastructure, virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, KVM, or OpenStack, networking, firewalls, IAM, and hardware monitoring.
- Experience with infrastructure as code or configuration management for bare-metal or private cloud environments, such as Terraform, Ansible, SaltStack, or Puppet.
- Strong scripting or programming skills with Python, Bash, or PowerShell, plus understanding of application architectures and container orchestration such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Experience applying strict security practices in air-gapped or highly regulated environments and working with industry standards and compliance requirements.
- Fluency in Finnish and English and Finnish citizenship are required; the role is 100% onsite in Helsinki.
Nice to have
- Strong CI/CD experience with GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Enterprise Server, or similar tools.
- Practical experience with self-hosted observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenSearch.
- Customer-oriented experience partnering closely with clients and stakeholders.
